How can I acquiring A Shoreline business license?
Any business operating within the city limits of Shoreline is required to obtain a Shoreline Business License for the city. This process can be combined when you register your business with the State of Washington to receive a Unified Business Identifier (UBI) number and complete the Master Business Application. Non-profit organizations are required to complete the application process, although the fee is waived.

What is the cost of the licenses?
The Master Business Application fee is $15 and includes the UBI number. The City Business License Addendum fee is $40 and if you need to register your business name as a trade name the cost is $5.
What information will I need to fill out the City Business License Addendum application?
You will need to know the following:
- Start of business date in Shoreline
- Shoreline license number if a business license was previously held in Shoreline
- Square footage of business
- Emergency contact information for two sources
- If applying as a non-profit organization, the IRS form 501(c) for tax exemption proof
- Physical address of business location in Shoreline
- For construction contractors, Department of Labor & Industries registration number (if known)
If your business is not located within the city limits of Shoreline but does business in Shoreline, provide the names of the other cities you do business in along with the first date you did business there, the fee amount for that city, and the license number for that city if known.
