We are planning our wedding in Santa Clarita, California, and we still need to get our marriage license. Is there a place where we can go to apply for a marriage license in Santa Clarita, California?

You will need to go together as a couple to one of these branch offices to submit your application. What documents are we going to have to bring when we go to apply for a marriage license for our wedding in Santa Clarita, California?

You should both bring a government-issued photo I.D. such as a current driver’s license or a passport when you go to the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk’s office. You should both be at least 18 years old and single at the time that you apply.

Though you cannot have a civil ceremony in Santa Clarita because civil ceremonies are only performed at branch offices of the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk’s office, you can go to one of the branch offices if you want to be married in a civil ceremony. The closest branch location to Santa Clarita is in Van Nuys, but you can choose to be married at a different branch office if you prefer. There is a $25 fee.
