Apply For A Building Permit

Renovations of existing buildings, entirely new constructions and demolishing old buildings all call for building permits. New construction can include anything from small work like building a fence or shed to a detached garage. Cosmetic changes normally do not require a permit. Building permits can be received by applying with the local parish or municipal government where the property or proposed property will be. You can expect that in addition to the building permit application, you will also need to submit copies of the floor plans or drawn plans, engineer or contractor details, projected project cost and that you may have to obtain more than one building permit to begin.
