Your marriage license will be valid throughout the State of Texas and will be good for 30 days once issued. Ensure that the wedding will not take place for 72 hours because the license will not be good until then. In order to receive your marriage license, you as the couple must go together to any County Clerk’s Office and supply vital information. You will both need to provide: names, addresses, parents’ details, previous marriages (if applicable), photo identification (in the form of a driver’s license, passport or military card), social security numbers, proof of US citizenship and pay the required fee. The marriage license application fee is typically approximately $70, which does vary. If you and your spouse-to-be take a premarital class, it may be discounted to $60.
