Any couple that marries in Tamarac, Florida will be required to obtain a marriage license from the Broward County Clerk of Courts. To apply for a marriage license, you will need to visit the clerks office together, as a couple and apply in person. If you are both over the age of 18, simply visit the nearest courthouse together, and apply. You will need to have two forms of ID, one photo ID and one social security card or alien registration card. If you do not have the correct form of ID, contact the Broward County Clerk of Courts at (954)831-6525 ext 7842 to discuss alternative identifications. If you and/or your intended spouse are under the age of 18, you will need to bring a written consent from both parents, a birth certificate bearing the names of both parents, a death certificate if one or both parents are deceased and an original court order of sole custody if applicable. Anyone under the age of 16 will need to be in direct contact with the Broward County Clerk of Courts for information on obtaining a marriage license.
What Costs Are Associated with Marriage Licenses in Tamarac, Florida?
The cost of a marriage license is $93.50 for those couples that have not completed a marriage preparedness course. If the couple has chosen to take this optional course, their marriage license fees are reduced to $61.00 and they will also be excluded from observing a three-day mandatory wait period to marry after receiving their marriage license. If a couple wishes to marry in the courthouse, the fee for an onsite marriage is $30.00. All fees for marriage licenses are non-refundable. If your marriage does not take place within 60 days of receiving your license, you will need to reapply, as your marriage license will no longer be valid. At the time of reapplication, you will need to submit the payment again. Contact the Clerk of Courts of Broward County to determine if your premarital preparation classes have expired as well. You may pay for your marriage license with cash, credit card, money order and check. Please note that the One Stop Division does not handle checks.

Yes, your marriage license is valid in any of the 67 counties in the state of Florida and you are free to marry in any of them. Some counties have different regulations, such as public notice, different costs for marriage ceremonies in courthouses, etc. but you will not have to reapply for any marriage license in the 60 day window.
