Yes, you will need a Redondo Beach business license to have a home occupation, but in addition to your business license, you will also need to apply for a home occupation permit. This application can be printed from the City of Redondo Beach website or you can request it from the License and Collections Division. A home occupation is clearly defined by City of Redondo Beach Municipal Code Section 6-1.22H (27). You will need to familiarize yourself with all conditions of what constitutes a home occupation and then be in compliance with all conditions to hold a home occupation permit. Some of these conditions include how your home will be used in your business, that you will not use more than one room of your residence to conduct your business, and that your business will not create any excess traffic, noise, vibration, dust beyond what is normal for a home or neighborhood.
