This teeny-tiny state is densely populated and quite industrialized for its size.  Big business here includes financial services, healthcare, defense, manufacturing, and marine products.  More than 500,000 people work in this little state.  20% of that workforce is represented in the education/health service field, the largest employment source in the state.  Following industries include trade, transportation, and utilities.  Government and information fields are also worthy of mention.  Professional/Business services is an expanding field and is expected to continue expansion.

Get a Business Degree in Rhode Island

Some big names in schooling exist here in Rhode Island.  It’s the home of Brown University, University of Rhode Island, Rhode Island School of Design and Johnson and Wales.  While these schools help drive the economy of the state, they are also excellent resources for individuals who wish to get a degree.  A degree in business is a great foundation for any of the strong industries in the state of Rhode Island.  Whether you’re interested in areas of finance management, or supply chain leadership, a business degree is a great choice. 

Brown University is well-known for their program in Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship.  Their business program includes online business degree options including an executive MBA.

University of Rhode Island – Undergraduate degree programs are offered in the areas of accounting, entrepreneurial management, finance, general business, global business, marketing, or supply chain management.   Graduate degree programs include a one-year MBA in Strategic Innovation and an evening MBA program for students that need a more flexible school schedule.  They also offer a Masters of Science in Accounting and PhD program in Business Administration. The online learning branch of URI does not currently offer online business degree programs but does offer online business classes including communication studies, health service and administration, and financial management. 

Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) is top notch in all areas of design.  A degree in Architecture or Industrial Design, can be a great foundation for working in the areas of architectural management.  Architechtural Engineering managers can make well into a 6-figure income.  Web Architecture and certain other courses are taught online.  Check website for more online degree programs. 

For more opportunities in online business degrees, Bryant University has business programs in several areas including an online business certificate program, and online business degrees in business analyst, business process management, and an online project management degree.  Other options for online business degrees include schools such as University of Phoenix.  They are national private schools that specialize in online learning.  They offer many types of degrees in business and offer flexible study schedules and excellent instruction.
