Minors over the age of 16 can be wedded in Largo providing that they have written parental consent.  If one or both of the people seeking a marriage license is under the age of 18, and can prove they are both the parents of their biological child or are expecting a child together, they may marry.  Any minor under the age of 16 will not be permitted to marry unless a county judge issues a marriage license.  

What Other Requirements Are Necessary to Obtain a Marriage License in Largo?

Proper documentation must be presented when applying for a marriage license.  This includes a state issued ID card, a military ID, a driver’s license, or passport.  If either party wishing to be married has been married previously, they will have to provide a date of the termination of the marriage and the cause, whether divorce, death or annulment.  If you have completed a premarital preparation course, you will need to bring a certificate of completion and a statement of completion from the Pinellas County Marriage License.  Each couple seeking a marriage license will be required to read the Family Law Handbook from the Family Law Section of The Florida Bar.  You and your spouse to be will need to have social security numbers, or if applicable, your INS number available for you marriage license application.

If you choose to be married by the Deputy Clerk, you will incur a cost of $30.00 in addition to your marriage license costs.  Ceremonies are preformed between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm Monday through Friday and no appointment is needed.  You are not required to be married in Largo even though your license is issued in Pinellas County.  Your marriage license is valid in any of the 67 counties in Florida and you may choose to be married in any of them.  After your marriage license is issued, it will be valid for 60 days.  If you have not married before your license expires, you will need to reapply and repay your fees.  Marriage license fees are non-refundable.
